I always gravitate to more cartoony  style for The Monsoons. I like the simplicity of line with the colour.

From old sketchbook coloured digitally. Still sloppy but I'm still looking at the tones themselves more than anything else and how they work with inked lines. But you're right, I should neaten it up a tad.

Better but it's pointing me to do some serious thinking about how I shade. The character's expression here is very much second or third priority. None of these are how I imagine doing the book but they're informative starts.
